The following are general requirements to obtain Water Utilities from The Grand Bahama Utility Company (GBUC)
Grand Bahama’s abundant fresh water is a natural resource unmatched in the Caribbean region. The Grand Bahama Utility Company pumps 8 million gallons daily of fresh, pure water, via state-of-the art pipe networks. The system is adequate for a modern city of 250,000, almost the entire population of The Bahamas. Rainfall averages 58 inches per year, replenishing the natural ground aquifer, a vast lens of fresh water located beneath the island.
The following are general requirements to obtain electricity from the Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC):
Available where facilites of suitable voltage and adequate capacity are adjacent to the premises to be served
Continuous alternating current of approxi-mately 12,470 volts and 60 hertz, 3-phase, three or four wire
For lighting, power and other purposes for commercial industrial, institutional, and other services exclusive of residential.
All service required by customer shall be furnished by one meter to each building, premises, property or group of properties under one ownership or management.
Twice the average Net Monthly Bill as estimated by the company or as there after ascertained.
